On 12/01/2024, Peoria Police Department officers responded to reports of a man breaking into vehicles near 91st and Grand Avenues. Upon arrival, officers encountered the individual, who attempted to flee in a vehicle. During the attempt, the individual nearly pinned two officers between vehicles. In response, the officers fired their weapons, striking the man at least once. The individual died at the scene. Two officers sustained minor injuries and were treated at a local hospital. The investigation is being conducted by the Peoria Police Department.
