OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 12/01/2024, St. Charles Police Department responded to River Glen of St. Charles, an assisted living facility, after receiving reports of a man with a chainsaw confronting residents. Officers arrived at the facility and found the man, described as shirtless, with a chainsaw. Police stated that the man ignored their commands to stop.

Officers deployed a Taser, but the man continued to hold the chainsaw. One officer fired a gun, hitting the man. Officers administered first aid on the scene, and paramedics transported him to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
