On December 2, 2024, Torrance Police Department officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of Oregon Court to investigate a report of "suspicious circumstances." Upon arriving at the scene, officers engaged with an individual, culminating in the police fatally shooting them. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
