On 12/09/2024, at approximately 12:28 p.m., Bellevue Police Department officers responded to a call in the Factoria neighborhood of Bellevue, Washington. Upon arrival at the 4300 block of 120th Avenue Southeast, officers encountered a 67-year-old man. During the encounter, the man reportedly assaulted the officers. One officer opened fire, wounding him. The man was later pronounced dead.
The King County Independent Force Investigation Team is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
