On 12/09/2024, Keokuk Police Department officers responded to a report of a man locked in a residence in the 500 block of Main Street. Upon arrival, officers engaged in a standoff when the man would not talk to them. The man sustained a gunshot wound from which he died.
Police have not yet explained what happened. The Keokuk Police Department is conducting an internal investigation.
