OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/15/2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m., police attempted a traffic stop near the intersection of U.S. Highway 165 and Louisiana Highway 2 in Mer Rouge, Louisiana. The driver did not stop. Police escalated a chase during which the vehicle left the roadway. As deputies approached, they found that the male driver was dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Louisiana State Police are investigating.
