On 12/18/2024, officers from the Gonzales Police Department responded to a residence in the 1000 block of St. Andrew Street in Gonzales, Texas, following reports of a man armed with a firearm who refused to surrender. The individual, identified as 46-year-old Jose Manuel Ruiz-Sanchez, was involved in a prolonged standoff with law enforcement.
After negotiations failed, officers entered the residence and engaged in a shootout with Ruiz-Sanchez, killing him in the home.
