On December 18, 2024, at approximately 11:15 a.m., officers from the Phoenix Police Department responded to a report of an armed individual inside a fast-food restaurant near 28th Avenue and Thunderbird Road in Phoenix. Upon arrival, officers established a perimeter around the restaurant and evacuated the patrons and employees. The individual remained inside the building.

After several hours, officers entered the restaurant and found the man deceased from a gunshot wound.
