On December 23, 2024, Indiana State Police officers responded to reports of a man attacking individuals with a knife at the intersection of County Road 800 W. and County Road 400 N. in Carroll County, near Delphi. Officers observed the man actively assaulting two individuals with a knife.

Officers opened fire, killing the man. Two people were injured from the knife attack and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Their conditions have not been disclosed.
