OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 11/22/2021, Fall River police responded to a Lowell Street address to take a report from a woman who said she was assaulted two days earlier and identified Anthony Harden, 30, as the person involved. Police then went to 120 Melville St. to arrest Harden. Inside Harden’s apartment, police said a struggle started and an officer fired two shots that hit Harden. Police claimed a knife was present and later said Harden tried to stab an officer. Harden’s family publicly disputed the police narrative and pressed for records and evidence. Reporting at the time noted Fall River did not have body cameras, so there was no body camera video of the shooting. The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office investigated.
