Upon arrival, a foot pursuit ensued. According to reports, during the confrontation, Brown lifted a gun to his head and shot himself as an officer also discharged their weapon, reportedly at the same moment. Brown died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, despite the officer's shot.
