On 12/13/2021, at approximately 2: 40 p.m., law enforcement was dispatched to a shooting incident where a 20-year-old male was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The shooter had left the location, and a description of the vehicle was broadcasted to surrounding law enforcement agencies. Two deputies from the Stearns County Sheriff's Office located a vehicle matching the description on Interstate 94. When they attempted to stop it, the driver left eastbound on I-94. The pursuit involved assistance from the Minnesota State Patrol and the Wright County Sheriff's Office, eventually ending near Monticello after road spikes were deployed to disable the vehicle's tires. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers discovered the individual inside had died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, indicating suicide.
