OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 07/10/2021, the Cloquet Police Department, Fond du Lac Police Department, Carlton County Sheriff's Office, and Minnesota State Patrol responded to a call for an armed man entering a home on Ridge around 10: 20 a.m. Officers saw Cogswell armed with a gun and threatening residents. Officers cleared the house, leaving Cogswell inside. Officers reportedly used less-lethal efforts to bring an end to the event. Cogswell shot and killed himself.
