On January 25, 2021, at around 7 p.m., a trooper from the Montana Highway Patrol conducted a traffic stop at MT-35 and Turtle Mountain Road in Creston. Upon approaching the vehicle, the trooper identified that the driver, Mark Johnston Parker, was in possession of a weapon. During the interaction, the trooper used a Taser during the critical incident. Parker shot and killed himself after the attack.
