On December 30, 2024, at approximately 2:00 a.m., deputies from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance call at a residence in the 100 block of North Poinsett Highway in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. Upon arrival, deputies encountered a male individual who was reportedly armed. During the encounter, the individual was shot by a deputy and subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is conducting an investigation into the incident.
