On January 28, 2021, at approximately 3:49 p.m., police received a report of an armed robbery in Hudson Falls, New York. Officers identified a vehicle matching the suspect's description and attempted a traffic stop. The driver, later identified as Sheldon R. Streicher, 38, fled the scene, initiating a pursuit. Hudson Falls Police, Washington County sheriff's deputies, and New York State Police pursued Streicher through Hudson Falls, Kingsbury, and into Fort Ann. The vehicle came to a stop on Clements Road near NY-149. As officers approached the vehicle, Streicher reportedly shot and killed himself inside.
