OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On October 1, 2021, Jason Metcalfe, 41, was accused of a fatal shooting in the Lake Lorelei community of Brown County, Ohio. Metcalfe fled the location in a stolen 2016 Chevrolet pickup truck. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including Clinton County deputies and the Ohio State Highway Patrol, escalated a high-speed chase through several counties. The chase ended in Clinton County when officers deployed stop sticks near the intersection of OH-134 and Patch Road in Clark Township. Metcalfe allegedly exited the vehicle with a weapon. Officers engaged him in a shootout during which he was killed. The Montgomery County Coroner's Office later determined that the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.
