OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a barricaded individual in a residential area of Conifer. A standoff ensued, leading to a shelter-in-place order for nearby residents. After several hours of negotiation attempts, deputies entered the residence and discovered the individual deceased from an apparent suicide. The shelter-in-place order was lifted following the conclusion of the incident. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the standoff and death.
