On 01/03/2025, South Jordan Police Department officers responded to a reported vehicle theft near 9400 South 4600 West in South Jordan, Utah. Upon arrival, officers encountered a man inside a vehicle who allegedly fired at police. Police opened fire, and the man fled. Officers located him in a nearby backyard and engaged in a second shootout. The shooting is under investigation by the Officer-Involved Critical Incident Team. This was the 4th police shooting in Utah in 5 days.
