OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Jefferson County deputies were initially called for a report of a man who was threatening suicide. When they arrived around 10 a.m., deputies heard a shot and found a man threatening suicide with a shotgun. SWAT was called and at one point, the man placed his weapon on the ground.
Deputies then fired beanbags at him, at which point he picked the gun back up and pointed it at the attacking deputies. They shot and killed him.
