On January 4, 2025, after a two-day manhunt, 33-year-old Austin Schepers was located by law enforcement at a residence in the 3700 block of Wheeler Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky. Schepers was the primary suspect in the shooting of Orange County Sheriff's Deputy Zach Andry during a traffic stop in West Baden Springs, Indiana, on January 3, 2025. Upon locating Schepers, an altercation ensued, resulting in Schepers being fatally shot by a Louisville Metro Police Department officer. Deputy Andry remains in critical but stable condition.
