OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On January 6, 2025, a 15-year-old male stole a Sandy Springs police car from an officer’s driveway in Forsyth County, Georgia. Forsyth County Sheriff's deputies located the vehicle near Peachtree Parkway and Sharon Road and initiated a pursuit. The chase concluded near South Forsyth High School when deputies employed a "box-in" maneuver to stop the car, which then collided with a Forsyth County patrol vehicle. Upon approaching the stopped vehicle, deputies found the teenager unresponsive with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
