On January 6, 2025, a 16-year-old male student from Lee County High School was on the road near Ledo Road and Nottingham Way. The Lee County Sheriff's Office actively chased a motorcycle at high speed until it crashed into the bystander vehicle, killing the 16-year-old student. The student was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
