On January 1, 2025, Little Rock Police Department officers responded to an assault report in the 2100 block of South State Street in Little Rock, Arkansas. Upon arrival, they discovered a vehicle had crashed into a residence, causing a gas leak. Inside the home, officers found 64-year-old Mary Ann Hansen deceased from stab wounds and another woman with multiple stab injuries; the latter was transported to a hospital in serious but stable condition. Subsequently, officers located 43-year-old Sidney Glasper, covered in blood, walking on South Broadway Street. Glasper, identified as the son of the surviving stabbing victim, held an unspecified weapon and walked toward officers Jesse Hurtado and Zachary Nelson.
