On December 25, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m., correctional officers at the Lauderdale County Detention Center discovered a female inmate unresponsive in her cell. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The inmate had been incarcerated since December 23, 2024, on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
