On January 19, 2025, officers from the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office and Haysville Police Department, along with a SWAT team, executed an arrest warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Maple Street in Haysville, Kansas. When officers made entry, they encountered a teenager inside the home who allegedly pointed a firearm at officers. Police opened fire, resulting in the man's death. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is leading the inquiry into the incident.
