On January 18, 2025, deputies from the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic disturbance call in Kershaw, South Carolina. Officers attempted to make contact with the individual, but he barricaded himself inside his residence. After a three-hour standoff, the man allegedly displayed a firearm, prompting deputies to open fire, killing him. No officers were injured during the incident. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating the critical incident.
