On January 19, 2025, Pasco County deputies responded to a disturbance call at a residence in Bayonet Point. Upon arrival, deputies encountered an armed individual. Body camera footage shows the man holding a firearm. Deputies discharged their weapons, resulting in the individual’s death at the scene. Sheriff Chris Nocco stated the deputies acted according to their training. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is conducting an independent investigation. Deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave.
