On 12/31/2024, 31-year-old Richard Lambert Moses was found unresponsive in a dormitory at the Grant County Jail in Ephrata, Washington. He was declared dead shortly after being discovered. Two corrections deputies were placed on paid administrative leave on 01/02/2025, pending the outcome of the investigation. The Central Basin Investigative Team, with assistance from the Benton County Sheriff's Office, is leading the investigation into Moses's death. The Grant County Coroner's Office is conducting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
