On December 26, 2023, Robert Michael Vidic, a 65-year-old white male, was found dead at the Goose Creek Correctional Center in Wasilla, Alaska. Vidic had been in the custody of the Alaska Department of Corrections since July 2022, for a total of 18 months and 3 days, awaiting trial for unresolved felony-DUI and assault charges. His death followed a medical emergency. The Alaska State Troopers and the State Medical Examiner's Office are investigating.
