OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On January 25, 2021, at approximately 4:05 p.m., Richland County Sheriff's deputies initiated a pursuit of a 2012 Ford Escape on Blue Bird Lane. The vehicle, occupied by Victor Addotta, 33, of Columbia, and Sara Hudson, 28, of Pelion, had been spray-painted to conceal its emblems and bore expired tags. During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle reportedly struck a deputy's car multiple times. The chase continued through Northeast Richland County, culminating in a head-on collision with a cement mixer at the intersection of Screaming Eagle Road and Percival Road. Both Addotta and Hudson sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
