OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On January 22, 2025, San Antonio Police Department officers responded to a "suicide in progress" call at an apartment complex. Upon their arrival, Brandon Scott Poulos, 46, fired at officers and then locked himself inside the apartment. SWAT arrived and escalated a standoff. Poulos was later found deceased. It remains unclear whether his death was self-inflicted or resulted from police gunfire. Seven officers were all allegedly injured, four by gunshot and three by undisclosed causes during the event. The incident remains under investigation.
