OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On January 22, 2025, St. Clair Township Police officers responded to a report of a possibly suicidal man near a dentist's office. Upon attempting to engage with the individual, identified as 30-year-old Joseph Como, he opened fire on the officers, leading to an exchange of gunfire. During the shootout, 4-year-old Rosalie Martin, who was inside the dentist's office, was struck by a stray bullet and later died from her injuries. A police officer, Detective Dakota Wetzel, was also critically injured in the incident. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is conducting an investigation to determine the source of the fatal shot.
