On December 26, 2023, at approximately 7:42 a.m., a 44-year-old male inmate was found unresponsive in his cell at the El Paso County Jail. Despite efforts, the inmate was pronounced dead. The cause of death is under investigation. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office has stated there is no suspicion of foul play at this time. The El Paso County Coroner’s Office will release further details after the autopsy.
