OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Officers responded to a burglary call at a car dealership around 4 a.m. They saw a driver in a blue Dodge Challenger leaving the dealership, which was later found abandoned with the engine still running. As additional officers arrived, a gray Dodge sped away from across the street. Police chased the vehicle from the Eastex Freeway to the beltway heading westbound. Officers reportedly lost sight of the speeding vehicle, which was later found crashed into a wall at the Hardy Toll Road. The vehicle had burst into flames, killing the driver.
