OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On January 28, 2025, at approximately 8:45 p.m., San Diego Police Department officers responded to a battery report at 600 W. Broadway in downtown San Diego. While investigating, they learned of a shooting at the MTS Trolley Platform around 8:51 p.m. Officers encountered a 20-year-old Latino man near 1100 Kettner Boulevard. An officer opened fire, killing the man. The man was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The incident is under investigation.
