OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 06/28/2021, a deputy with the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office attempted to stop a motorcycle on Eastern Bypass in Warrenton. Josemanuel "Chema" Antonio Delgado Alva did not stop, and deputies chased him northbound onto U.S. Route 29. Virginia State Police joined the pursuit. During the chase, Delgado Alva attempted to enter a crossover in the median. He lost control of the motorcycle, crossed into the southbound lanes of Route 29, and collided with two vehicles. Delgado Alva died at the scene. Authorities reported that no occupants of the other vehicles suffered life-threatening injuries.
