On February 2, 2025, Chicago police shot and killed a man in the Lawndale neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Police claimed they responded to reports of a burglary near West 18th Street. When officers arrived, they alleged the man fired shots at them. Police then opened fire, killing him. The Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) is investigating the incident.
