On February 3, 2025, a 36-year-old man was shot and killed by a Philadelphia police officer near the I-95 southbound ramp close to Philadelphia International Airport. The man had approached an officer, claiming he had been stabbed. While awaiting backup and medical assistance, a physical altercation occurred between the man and the officer. The officer attempted to use a Taser, but it was ineffective. A second officer arrived on the scene and, during the confrontation, fired multiple shots, fatally wounding the man. Neither officer was injured. The incident is under investigation.
