On February 6, 2025, Sarasota County Sheriff's Office deputies attempted to stop Cody Burrow, 31, who was wanted on a felony drug warrant near the intersection of Beneva Road and Webber Road in Sarasota, Florida.During the attempted stop, Burrow struck multiple sheriff's office vehicles, injuring a deputy.Burrow then continued driving and crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of Lockwood Ridge Road and 53rd Street.He was pronounced dead at the scene.The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
