EVENT NARRATIVE:
On 09/08/2021, 26-year-old Akiem Brown of Milwaukee was killed when the vehicle he was driving crashed following a Wisconsin State Patrol pursuit on I-94 in Milwaukee. Two passengers in Brown’s vehicle were injured.

The pursuit began on I-94 and continued eastbound. Available public reporting does not disclose the location where State Patrol first encountered Brown, the reason troopers attempted to stop him, the pursuit’s duration or distance, or the maximum speeds reached by Brown or pursuing troopers. No PIT/TVI maneuver, stop sticks, roadblock or intentional police-vehicle contact was publicly reported.

At approximately 7:25 p.m., the pursuit reached the area of South 70th Street and West Kearney Street near I-94. Police dispatch audio recorded an officer reporting that a car had attempted to get away from him and requesting additional squads and medical assistance at 70th and Kearney.
