On 02/13/2025, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Cathedral City Police Department officers responded to a report of a suicidal individual in mental health crisis near the Napa Auto Parts store. While en route, 38-year-old Enrique Gonzalez contacted police, stating he was armed and had moved to a parking lot at the intersection of Buddy Rogers Avenue and Monty Hall Drive. Officers arrived and attempted to engage with Gonzalez, who then fatally shot himself.
