On 02/12/2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Phoenix Police responded to reports of a man forcing a woman into a truck near Interstate 10 and 51st Avenue. The vehicle was tracked to Gilbert, near Higley and Williams Field Roads, where an officer-involved shooting occurred just after midnight. Phoenix Police officers shot both the man and the woman; the man died, and the woman was hospitalized. No officers were injured.
