On 02/18/2025, at approximately 6:10 PM, a man crashed his vehicle into a police cruiser in the 3300 block of Georgia Avenue NW. He then exited his car, allegedly with a knife, reached into the officer’s cruiser, and reportedly demanded the officer’s service weapon. The officer retreated and issued verbal commands. The man continued attacking, and police opened fire, striking him. Despite being shot, the man attempted to carjack another vehicle before officers opened fire again and killed him.
