On 02/21/2025, Piqua Police Department officers responded to a domestic disturbance report at a residence in the 200 block of McKinley Avenue in Piqua, Ohio. Upon arrival, officers encountered a 44-year-old white male inside the home. During the interaction, an officer shot and killed the man. West had been in mental health crisis and had a pepper ball gun only.
