On February 27, 2025, a man was shot and killed in a shootout with Maricopa Police Department officers at the intersection of Bowlin Road and John Wayne Parkway in Phoenix, Arizona. During the incident, an officer was also shot and transported to a Valley hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition. No additional threat to the area was reported. The Pinal County Sheriff's Office is conducting an investigation.
