OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On February 25, 2025, Cokette Jean Meyer, 57, was found dead at the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center. Around 1:40 a.m., Meyer was under observation by jail medical staff and parish deputies when she suffered a medical emergency. EMS transported her to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Meyer had been in custody since January 17, following her arrest by Slidell Police on charges of disturbing the peace and resisting arrest by force or violence. The cause of death remains under investigation, pending final autopsy results.
