Marshall Nelson, a 52-year-old fire captain, was arrested on January 30, 2025, on 100 counts of possession of child pornography. He was detained at the Falkenburg Road Jail. On February 25, 2025, Nelson was found in his cell hanging from a bedsheet. Deputies initiated life-saving measures, and he was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead the following day. The Medical Examiner's Office will determine the official cause of death.
