On February 27, 2025, at approximately 2:50 p.m., Maricopa police officers responded to an incident at a Circle K gas station near Bowlin Road and John Wayne Parkway. Upon arrival, officers encountered 38-year-old Keith Brock and confronted him. Police said he pulled a gun and shot one officer multiple times. Another officer opened fire and hit him multiple times, whereupon a detective's car ran over him as well. He was pronounced dead. The officer is stable.
