On February 28, 2025, Dorchester County deputies responded to a disturbance near Dorchester Road and Ashley Phosphate Road in North Charleston, South Carolina. Upon arrival, deputies encountered 35-year-old Robert S. Rose, who reportedly attacked a deputy with a hatchet. Rose then barricaded himself inside a residence, leading to a standoff. Deputies finally entered the residence and shot and killed him.
